Water station Eichwalde

The design for the new water station forms a new tourist attraction for water sports and excursions right on the Dahme river. A new jetty with raft rental, gastronomy with beer garden, boat berths and holiday apartments is being built. The boat rental will offer canoes and comfortably equipped rafts as a "floating holiday home" that can be rented on a daily or weekly basis. The existing ruins will be partially dismantled and then built up in timber construction in order to create the spatial possibilities for the intended functions of catering, hotel business and multi-purpose rooms. This creates 4-6 apartments with their own access.

A reorganization of the layout on the ground floor of the existing building creates a spacious, open room for the catering trade. Large glass surfaces open the building to the water and create smooth transitions between inside and outside. An additional multi-purpose room is created that can be rented separately or added to the restaurant if required. The design shows the different uses of the building in terms of cubature, facade and material: in contrast to the clear geometric base of the ground floor there is a geometrically complex structure with its own assigned terraces on the upper floor.

As an extension of the offer, an additional two-storey wooden structure is planned, which can be used together with the restaurant as required. Multifunction rooms are created on the ground floor, which can be rented for seminars or celebrations, for example. A temporary workshop can be used here for smaller workshops and events such as raft construction and woodworking. Additional accommodation options are available on the upper floor.
The wooden facades of the new buildings harmoniously emphasize the natural environment, since their large-scale glazing frames the view of Lake Zeuthen and the surrounding nature. As a special focus is put on sustainable construction, the use of renewable energies is an integral part of the design concept. The aim is to meet the low-energy house standard.

Parking spaces for users of the water station and bathing area are provided on the street side of the property. The bathing lawn on the bank can be used for events in summer. In view of the residents, structural noise protection is provided.
